New Mexico Bureaucrats Fight Climate Change by Spending Thousands on Lake Tahoe Retreat December 9, 2019 Nothing says “Fighting Climate Change” like spending thousands of taxpayer dollars on a retreat to Lake Tahoe. Yet, that’s exactly what two people from the New Mexico Department of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources did. We first told you about the hypocrisy of the trip last October when we found out the US Climate Alliance thinks killing energy jobs should be called a “just transition.” Now, we’ve received the receipts for the trip and know the two employees spent more than $2700 in taxpayer dollars taking fossil-fueled flights and staying in resort hotels all to discuss their “just transition” around a fireside chat at the beach. Perhaps the US Climate Alliance should offer a retreat on hypocrisy. Santa Fe would be a great place to play host. hypocrisy New Mexico Back to Blog Posts
