Biden Promises “No More Drilling” November 7, 2022 There is no question that this is an important midterm election. We are seeing record-high prices for energy, as inflation continues to rise. President Biden has threatened two critical energy sectors in the past two days. First, he stated he would shut down coal plants across America, and now he is promising “no more drilling.” The Washington Examiner reports on Biden’s comment, which happened Sunday during an election rally for New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY): ‘ “No more drilling,” he said, waving his hand with a back-and-forth motion. “There is no more drilling. I haven’t formed any new drilling.” The person was holding up a sign that read, “5 more years of drilling is a lose lose!” and could be heard yelling back at Biden about offshore leases. He responded, “That was before I was president. We’re trying to work on that to get that done. Thank you.” If you’re experiencing whiplash, you are not alone. A week ago, the president threatened oil and gas companies with higher taxes if they did not increase domestic production. It seems Joe Biden has no real idea about what is going on within his administration and energy policies. One thing is clear: the Biden/Harris administration is not a friend of American energy. Energy workers provide families across the country with vital energy and deserve more support than this administration is willing to give. These hardworking men and women deserve better. Tomorrow it is important to remember that energy is on the ballot. Back to Blog Posts
