White House Announces Fifth Sale of Strategic Reserve

This week the White House announced the sale of another 20 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This is the President’s fifth time making the announcement. Each time it feels like Groundhog Day: the announcement is made, and it does nothing to help the American people.

The White House announced Tuesday that the Department of Energy will be issuing a notice to sell 20 million more barrels of oil for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of the Biden administration’s effort to bring gas prices down.

This strategic reserve release is even bolder considering the President and his son Hunter Biden are under the microscope regarding selling our strategic oil to Hunter’s business partners in China.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers discusses sending American oil overseas.

“The American people deserve answers as to why our emergency energy reserves are being sent to foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party, compromising our energy security and national security.”

Americans are dealing with inflation and high energy prices. Biden’s continuous release of oil barrels has done nothing to help American families. It just puts weak band-aids on a severe issue. To add insult to injury, there is no guarantee these barrels of oil will reach Americans. They could be shipped across the globe to join the 5 million barrels already shipped to China.
