Waiting for Support from the Coronavirus Relief Act? Thank the Green Agenda. April 7, 2020 Millions of Americans are awaiting the extra financial support from the Coronavirus Relief Bill, or CARES Act. Sadly, thousands of New Mexicans will have to wait longer thanks to the green agenda. The record $2 trillion CARES Act provides stimulus checks and also funds a large bump in unemployment insurance. The need for the assistance is vital for New Mexico where over 5 percent of the workforce has now filed for unemployment. A record influx of unemployed families could really use the extra $600 a month from the new relief act, but windmills apparently come first. The bill that would ultimately become the CARES Act was held up for days by Democrats in the House who wanted to insert aspects of the Green New Deal into the new law. The eco-left wish list was finally taken out of the bill, but the delay is harming New Mexicans right now. If New Mexico’s Congressional Delegation had stood up and demanded quick passage of the bill, families might’ve been able to receive financial relief sooner. Apparently, tax breaks for wind and solar come first. In a crisis, each day counts. The days wasted while trying to push the green agenda are now hurting thousands of New Mexico’s families.
