Utility Warns: New Mexico Forced Transition May Lead to Problems Next Summer July 26, 2021 New Mexico’s largest utility is admitting the forced transition to unreliable solar and wind power isn’t going as planned and it could cause problems next summer. In a report by the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, the utility wrote “PNM’s existing resources, including available reserves, may be insufficient for peak period reliability” next summer. The utility notes that solar projects are late coming online, including one project that may be in default and now New Mexico’s electric reliability is in question. Not to worry, environmental groups are still pushing for the closure of a coal-fired power plant that has delivered reliable electricity for decades…because the green agenda always comes first. Now, New Mexico might get to join California in the world of unreliable electricity. Who could’ve seen this coming? Everyone, that’s who. New Mexico Back to Blog Posts
