Study: Federal Leasing Ban Would Cost 5% of All Jobs in New Mexico

If a potential Biden Administration gets their way, nearly 5 percent of all jobs would be lost in New Mexico.

The job losses would come as a result of a federal ban prohibiting natural gas leasing on public lands. A study released by the American Petroleum Institute found such a ban would kill over 62,000 jobs in New Mexico.

And according to a former Deputy Secretary for Energy, since 2/3 of New Mexico’s natural gas production takes place on federal land, such a move would cost the state billions in lost revenue.

New Mexico deserved better than radical eco-policies that kill jobs and destroy our economy.
