Sound of Silence: Climate Agenda Largely Absent from DNC

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) wrapped last night, but we are still waiting to learn about the Harris-Walz energy policy. The climate agenda was only mentioned in passing at the DNC this week, which was likely a strategic move, as Harris’s aides recently called her energy policy strategically ambiguous.

The Washington Post reports,

“After casting the tiebreaking vote for the biggest climate bill in U.S. history, Vice President Kamala Harris would seem to have some environmental bragging rights.

Yet Harris and other top Democrats have not highlighted climate change or the environment in recent stump speeches, including keynote remarks at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week. Former president Donald Trump, by contrast, has continued to attack Harris for her alleged “war on American energy,” and several speakers at last month’s Republican National Convention lambasted gasoline prices under President Joe Biden.”

The American people deserve to know the full extent of presidential nominees’ policies, especially those regarding our energy sector,

From the DNC going nearly silent on their energy agenda to auto manufacturers losing billions on EVs, the failures of the Kamala Harris plan are clearly on full display this week.”
