Seeking Transparency on Washington State’s Carbon Tax Proposal

Seeking Transparency on Washington State’s Carbon Tax Proposal

February 26, 2018

With his direct confrontation of President Trump at a meeting yesterday at the White House, Washington Governor Jay Inslee is taking his turn in the national spotlight. But it’s the impact of his wrong-headed policy ideas back home that has caught the eye of Power The Future. After the idea was twice rejected by the voters, Inslee is again championing a carbon tax bill which will make energy more expensive for the citizens of Washington, and punish the men and women who work in the energy industry. In fact, it was overwhelmingly rejected only 15 months ago 58-42. This legislation does nothing positive, but only seems to advance a radical environmental agenda. Is it possible outside groups are pushing it?

As sunlight is the best disinfectant, Power The Future is asking for transparency from the Governor and his aids and the extreme environmental groups who dance to the tunes of Tom Steyer and George Soros. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests have been submitted, and we will keep you posted on anything of note, particularly any collusion between Inslee and national political leaders. If you have any information about the crafting of this destructive legislation, feel free to send it along.
