Renewable Energy Poses an Increasing Threat to US Security July 12, 2024 Renewable energy is not only costly but more susceptible to cyber security attacks than traditional sources of energy. Despite this the eco-left and Biden administration continue to advocate for a rapid adoption of renewable energy without taking proper security measures. Just The News reports: “The FBI has issued an official alert to the public about the potential for malicious cyber actors to disrupt power generation, steal intellectual property, or hold critical information for ransom within the U.S. renewable energy sector.” Targets for these hackers could include, “include microgrids, local power systems that can operate independently during outages, or larger solar farms.” Even more concerning is that federal agencies such as the Department of Defense are relying more and more on renewable energy due to pressure from the eco-left, leaving our Armed forces and national security at risk. Moreover, residential solar infrastructure has been attacked recently as well. “According to the FBI, a 2019 incident underscored these risks when a private company lost visibility into approximately 500 megawatts of its wind and photovoltaic sites across California, Utah, and Wyoming due to a denial-of-service attack exploiting an unpatched firewall.” This should be a warning to all Americans who are considering switching to solar panels to power their homes, especially if they are not fans of random power outages or foreign hackers. However, if the current administration stays in power, Americans may no longer have the ability to choose their energy supplier as the Biden administration continues to force renewable energy on the populace through mandates and regulations.
