President Biden’s Desperate and Dangerous Draining of U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserves October 19, 2022 President Biden plans to continue draining our Strategic Petroleum Reserves by releasing 15 million more barrels of oil. The key word is strategic reserves; the only strategic concerns Biden has are low poll numbers. The Wall Street Journal reports on the pending announcement from President Biden. “The move comes just days after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its Russia-led allies agreed to output cuts and after Russian officials began threatening further supply cuts to strike back at Western sanctions. U.S. officials say the administration needs to extend the timeline of its oil sales—originally to be completed in October—to counter those potential cuts and ensure prices keep falling from the historic highs of earlier this year.” The United States has been blessed with an abundance of oil resources. The Biden/Harris administration is perfectly comfortable dealing with dictators and leaving U.S. citizens vulnerable in order to maintain power in Washington, D.C. “Biden is in panic mode. This is a desperate, election time band-aid on his self-inflicted energy wounds,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “Biden will gladly collude with foreign nations to manipulate gas prices because he wants good press, not because he wants to see a better life for American families. He is only concerned about skyrocketing costs until November 8th, and once the election is over he will continue his war on American fossil fuels regardless of the adverse impact it has on our nation. That tells you everything about his priorities.” Back to Blog Posts
