President Biden Visits New Mexico to Boast Failed Clean Energy Policies August 9, 2023 President Biden will spend the day traveling around New Mexico to try and sell that green energy is working. This visit comes at a time when families in New Mexico are paying more for gas, and many are struggling to pay their energy bills, all driven by the loss of American energy independence due to the eco-left’s clean energy policies. And now the President will fundraise and strut around town bragging about those same policies. Power The Future Communications Director Larry Behrens discusses Biden’s visit to New Mexico, “No doubt President Biden will be guided from one carefully-scripted event to another, but if he really wanted to see what powers New Mexico’s economy, he would meet the workers in our energy industry that make everything possible. While President Biden’s fossil fuel-powered motorcade speeds by the homes of working families, his policies are forcing them to buy an EV and get rid of their gas stove. Instead of insulating himself in a bubble of donors and sympathetic politicians, President Biden should learn about reality from the families paying more because of his failed energy policies.” Biden’s failed energy policies have led to: The cost of gas in New Mexico is up over 25 cents a gallon in just the last month. In the month before President Biden took office, New Mexicans were paying $2.10 per gallon at the pump, or $1.65 less than what they pay today. According to the Census Bureau, 31 percent of adult New Mexicans are unable to pay their energy bill. A recent examination of electric vehicle owner rates found that only 0.8 percent of New Mexicans own an EV, and they are clustered in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. New Mexico Back to Blog Posts
