New Mexico Finds Money to Teach Eco-Left Agenda to Children During Massive Budget Deficit

May 20, 2020

It’s no secret New Mexico is facing a massive budget deficit that will force the Legislature into a special session sometime in June. However, it looks like the priorities of the eco-left aren’t on the chopping block.

The state Economic Development Department put out a public notice earlier this week letting everyone know they have money to spare. The state is looking for local governments or non-profits to apply for the new “Outdoor Equity Fund.” Taxpayer-funded awards between $1,500 and $15,000 will go to applicants who find the best way to teach children about “climate change and the environment as part of an outdoor recreation program.”

Keep in mind, every New Mexico school child was released from school and told to stay home from March 13 through the rest of the school year because of the Coronavirus. However, it appears the state can find the money and the space to get children out of the house for a little indoctrination.

As Legislators grapple with difficult decisions in a budget crisis, it’s clear the eco-left will be given priority.
