Led by New Mexico’s Energy Workers, US Becomes Net Petroleum Exporter for First Time in 70 Years

December 2, 2019

It’s another historic delivery brought to you by New Mexico’s energy workers.

According to the Energy Information Association, and reported by Yahoo Finance, the United States posted a full month as a net exporter of petroleum products for the first time since record-keeping began in 1949.

Read that again: the United States is a net exporter of oil for the first time since Harry Truman was President.

What is driving this historic output? New Mexico’s energy workers.

“Soaring output from shale deposits led by the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico has been in main driver of the transition”

However, one of the concerns expressed about the future of the output is the current state of politics as leading Democrat Presidential contenders talk about devastating bans on fracking.

Why would they want to stop historic gains for New Mexico and the rest of the United States?

Seems like a fair question.
