Energy Secretary Granholm Out of Touch with Reality

Energy Secretary Granholm Out of Touch with Reality

August 23, 2022

U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm is showing again how out of touch this administration is with the American working class. Flaunting a billion-dollar legislative package that will do nothing to help Americans’ primary concerns is grossly out of touch and disappointing even by this administration’s standards.

Fox News reports:

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, Granholm said the Democrats’ $437 billion climate and health care legislation will provide thousands of dollars in tax rebates for lower- and middle-class Americans to weatherize their homes…If you want heat pumps, insulation, new windows, that is covered,” she said. “If you are moderate income, today you can get 30% off the price of solar panels. Those solar panels can be financed, so you don’t have to have the big outlay at the front … it’s a significant incentive.”

American families are worried about affording gas, food, rent and other essentials this winter. But the Biden administration seems to think offering a discount on expensive solar panels will fix everything. This administration is so removed from the real world that Secretary Granholm claimed clean energy could be the way to world peace.

“If we want to be energy secure and energy independent, that means we’ve got to produce our own energy,” Granholm said in an interview Friday. “My counterpart in Ireland, the energy minister there, has said that no one has ever weaponized access to the sun. No one has ever weaponized the wind. Perhaps a move to clean energy will be the greatest peace plan the world has ever known.”

Not so long ago, we were energy independent. But the Biden/Harris administration made sure to squash our energy sector.  In fact, Secretary Granholm recently laughed out when asked about rising gas prices and increasing oil production in America. We hope our leadership can come to their senses by supporting the energy sector and giving the American people some much-needed relief.
