Democrat Presidential Candidates Want to Ban Fracking, Do New Mexico’s Leaders Agree?

It’s hard to quantify the number of radical ideas that were put forth during the CNN Climate Debate on Thursday, but New Mexicans need to take notice of one: the proposal to ban fracking.

Banning fracking is on the radar of nearly every Democratic candidate running for President. However, the practice has delivered billions of dollars to New Mexico not to mention thousands of jobs and affordable energy for the state’s working families. Not to mention, the industry provides more than 35 percent of all the revenue collected by the state and has the potential for billions more in the future.

So, the question for New Mexico’s leaders is very simple: do they agree with those in their party running for President that we need a ban on fracking?

New Mexicans will no doubt be interested in the answer if anyone has the guts to ask.
