Dem New Mexico Congresswoman Forced to Denounce Joe Biden’s Oil Comments October 23, 2020 It’s the statement being repeated in every energy-rich state in the country today. During the last Presidential debate, former Vice President Joe Biden told the world “I would transition away from the oil industry, yes.” Biden also added “The oil industry pollutes, significantly. It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time.” Biden’s statements drew a quick rebuke from New Mexico Democrat Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small: I disagree with VP Biden's statement tonight. Energy is part of the backbone of New Mexico’s economy. The New Mexico Democrat is working hard to paint herself as an energy moderate even though she’s voted with AOC on key energy bills.
