Deep State takes hit after Chevron Supreme Court Ruling: Win for Americans July 5, 2024 Following the powerful words of the Supreme Court, American business can once again rejoice as the Chevron deference has been overruled in a 6-3 vote, limiting oversight by government agencies and the effect of overreaching EPA regulations. No longer will American energy firms be hindered by the efforts of the EPA and Biden’s climate agenda. Like the 2022 decision to strike down the Obama “Clean Power Plan”, justices in the nation’s highest court found the EPA overstepped its boundaries and implemented policies not authorized by Congress. The Daily Caller reports: Steve Milloy, a senior legal fellow for the Energy and Environment Legal Institute and a former member of the Trump EPA transition team, told DNCF that “This is huge. And it’s more than just Chevron, if you take the June 2022 decision in West Virginia v. EPA, and then you bookend that with this decision to overturn Chevron, then a lot of EPA regulations, illegal EPA regulations, can go away.” Specifically, some recent eco-left policies that have been issued by the EPA including power plant emission restrictions and EV vehicle mandates could be removed. Former EPA Chief of Staff Mandy Gunasekara told the Daily Caller, “The era of ‘trust the experts’ is over, there’s no doubt that crafty administrative lawyers will try to find an end run around this ruling. But overturning Chevron deference, alongside the ‘major questions’ doctrine decision in West Virginia v. EPA, has defanged the deep state. This is a huge win for checks and balances and putting the faceless bureaucrats in their place.” With a strong win for American business ordered by the nation’s highest court, future administrations will no longer be able to hide in the shadows behind harmful regulations and restrictions that impede American industry and workers.
