Deb Haaland’s Record of Failure Wrong for New Mexico Energy Workers

Former Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is expected to announce her candidacy for Governor of New Mexico. New Mexico has an abundance of fossil fuel resources and over 66,000 energy workers across the state. The last thing New Mexico needs is another governor who puts energy workers last.

We know from Haaland’s record as the Secretary of Interior how damaging her policies are.  Some of the most notable failures include:

• Leasing the fewest acres for oil and gas development since Harry Truman was in office.

• Refusing to acknowledge the record gas prices delivered by the Biden Administration.

• Being investigated for removing hundreds of acres of New Mexico land from oil and natural gas production.
