COP28 Agreement Latest Biden Attack on American Energy

December 13, 2023

As the United Nations climate conference, COP28, ends, the attendees leave us with a parting “gift.” It was announced early this morning that over 190 governments, including the United States, had reached an agreement to transition away from fossil fuels. This marks the first time a U.N. climate accord has stipulated that governments should reduce their reliance on all forms of fossil fuels.

The Wall Street Journal reports,

“The deal, the result of all-night talks, calls for “transitioning away from fossil fuels in energy systems, in a just, orderly and equitable manner.” It says the shift to clean energy for the global economy should accelerate this decade with the aim of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Scientists say that is crucial to fulfilling the Paris Accord, the landmark climate agreement that calls for governments to attempt to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial temperatures.”

The deal was reached as Joe Biden’s appointed Climate Czar, John Kerry, regularly visited the Chinese delegation at the conference. The agreement is announced as major wind projects are failing in the US, and electric vehicle manufacturers are cutting back production due to slowing sales.

“This joke of an agreement really only has two goals: allow Joe Biden to continue his war on American energy and ensure these elitists have something to do before next year’s COP29 exclusive junket,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Director of Power The Future. “These unelected bureaucrats can smile as they board their carbon-spewing private jets knowing feckless leaders like Joe Biden will continue to do their bidding in pursuit of a fanciful and misguided agenda.”
