Christmas Wish #8: No More Taxpayer Money on Climate Conferences

December 26, 2024

During the last four years, the Biden-Harris administration has traveled thousands of miles on the taxpayer’s dime to attend climate conferences far and wide. From Climate Week in New York to COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, there was seemingly no place too far for this administration’s eco-left warriors to travel. This is why our eighth Christmas wish is to stop taxpayer money from going to frivolous travel for climate conferences.

“The era of taxpayer-funded climate junkets must end,” said Daniel Turner, Executive Director of Power The Future. “It’s time for the federal government to reflect the will of the American people and prioritize the interests of its workers over the demands of the climate elite.”

This practice needs to end when President Trump takes office in January. Climate conferences are thousands of miles away from Washington, D.C., and are a prime example of the climate elite’s hypocrisy and wastefulness. All these flights emit a staggering amount of carbon, yet the D.C. bureaucrats have the audacity to lecture us on reducing our carbon footprint. It is time for the next administration to stop squandering our tax dollars on useless globe-trotting vacations.
