Biden’s Secret Climate Office December 23, 2020 President-elect Joe Biden’s climate team is now assembled, and the media’s coverage of these selections and nominations has largely passed. But, one aspect of his team did not receive the attention that it deserves – Biden created an “Office of Domestic Climate Policy” out of thin air. Biden appointed Gina McCarthy – current head of the Natural Resources Defense Council and former administrator of the EPA under President Obama – to lead this newly-created office. Essentially, Biden is giving McCarthy the agency to execute the eco-left’s controversial climate agenda out of the view of the American people. Thankfully, Power The Future Western States Director Larry Behrens wrote about this issue in the Daily Caller: After spending the last six months trying to convince us that he doesn’t support extreme ideas like a full ban on fracking and the Green New Deal, Biden is creating bureaucratic positions for leaders that are fully behind those disastrous proposals. Biden spent much of his time on the campaign trail attempting to strike a balance between moderate Democrat voters and the eco-left’s demands, often leading to contradiction and back-peddling from his team. But, now that he is in office, it appears as though he’s giving in to the pressure created by radicals such as Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). The terrible reality is that Gina McCarthy will help form a direct line between her former questionable employer and the White House, leaving America’s energy workers without a voice.
