Biden’s Energy Department Nominee Praises Green New Deal

President Biden’s nominee for Director of the Energy Department’s Office of Minority and Economic Impact, Shalanda Baker, praises the Green New Deal in her new book and calls for a “power revolution” that would transform how the energy industry works in order to combat socioeconomic inequality.

FOX News reports:

Her approach, she wrote, goes “hand in hand with calls for a Green New Deal” due to its call for “comprehensive structural changes across all sectors of our economy[.]”

Baker’s nomination comes at a time when the Biden administration is making a hard push toward new energy sources as part of a climate-focused agenda. This has already resulted in the loss or cancellation of thousands of jobs, especially following the halting of work on the Keystone XL pipeline.

The administration insists its new approach to energy will result in millions of new jobs, but it is unclear when those positions would become a reality or if current workers would have the qualifications to perform the necessary duties involved.

President Biden continues to push unrealistic and dishonest climate policies and continues to nominate eco-left radicals to leadership positions in key energy regulating departments. It is clear now after his first 100 days in office Biden’s intent from the outset was to wage war on the oil and gas industry.

In a press release today, Daniel Turner, Executive Director of Power the Future discussed the havoc this administration has brought to the sector:

“The first 100 days of the Biden Administration have been a gift to the radical left and a blow to America’s fossil fuel workers,” said Turner. “On day one, the President put 11,000 Americans out of work by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline. Since then he has essentially halted fracking, tried to choke off energy production on federal land, and presided over a 20 percent increase in gas prices. The climate goals that President Biden laid out last night are unrealistic, unachievable, and dishonest with the American people.”

Biden has done everything in his power to bring down the industry, including nominating individuals to positions of leadership knowing full well they would utilize that power to carry out the radical left’s green agenda.
