Biden’s Bureaucrats Scramble to Save Their Jobs as Trump Takes Aim December 10, 2024 As the Biden administration comes to a close, career civil servants and political appointees are scrambling to insulate themselves from the incoming Trump administration’s promised government efficiency mandates and pro-energy regulation reductions. With President-elect Donald Trump vowing to cut the federal workforce and eliminate departments, these bureaucrats are taking desperate measures to protect their jobs and avoid accountability. According to The Washington Post: “Federal employees are scrubbing their Facebook and X accounts for any negative posts about Trump. Some, including at least one prominent official who testified in Trump’s first impeachment inquiry, are weighing putting in retirement papers, while others maneuver to transfer to seemingly safer agencies.” This last-minute scramble is a telling sign that Biden’s bureaucrats know that their days of pushing far-left, anti-worker policies and enjoying unrestricted power are coming to an end. From scrubbing social media accounts to changing job titles and even buying liability insurance, these desperate attempts to avoid accountability are a clear admission of guilt. The Washington Post continues: “Meanwhile, some agencies have moved to reclassify jobs with titles that could clash with Trump’s agenda, especially those promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, boosting environmental justice and fighting the effects of climate change. For the first time, some civil servants are taking out liability insurance to cover lawyers if they’re demoted or fired. And in a rare alliance, outgoing Biden administration appointees are joining forces with labor unions to extend collective bargaining agreements, locking in benefits before the incoming administration can seek to undo them.” The panic among Biden’s bureaucrats is a welcome sign that a pro-energy revolution is on the horizon. The incoming Trump administration must follow through on its promises to cut red tape, eliminate wasteful departments, and unleash American energy. It’s time to ensure that our government works to empower American energy, not constrain it. Let the bureaucrats scrub their social media and buy liability insurance—it won’t save them from the energy revolution that’s coming. Back to Blog Posts
