Biden to Veto Boost to U.S. Energy Production March 28, 2023 Earlier this month, House Leaders introduced H.R.1. the “Lower Energy Costs Act.” Which aims to restore Energy Independence by fixing permitting, promoting new refineries and increasing mining. Yesterday, the White House announced that President Biden would veto the energy package. Showcasing once again that our President puts the American energy sector last. Fox News reports, “The White House issued a statement of administration policy Monday, stating that President Biden would veto Republicans’ sweeping energy package in its current form. According to the memo, the Biden administration “strongly opposes” the bill — titled the Lower Energy Costs Act — because it would work to counteract the administration’s own agenda promoting green energy sources over fossil fuel alternatives. The memo claimed that the GOP legislation proposes to replace pro-consumer policies with a “thinly veiled license to pollute,” echoing criticism from top House Democrats.” The veto threat shows how out of touch this administration is with the rest of the country. Thanks to President Biden’s war on American energy, families have experienced record-breaking inflation for the past two years. It is time for the Biden/Harris Administration to bring back American energy independence, and vetoing H.R. 1 will delay that even further. Power The Future Founder Daniel Turner had the following to say about Biden’s planned veto, “For all the Beltway chatter about his purported triangulation heading into his re-election, Joe Biden is starting the second half of his term in an identical fashion to the first: utter and complete capitulation to the extreme environmental left that funded his campaign and runs his administration. The new House Republican majority deserves great credit for the Lower Energy Costs Act, which represent a roadmap to the energy independence Biden so foolishly squandered. Reliable, affordable and domestic energy has powered America’s greatness for generations, and it’s incumbent on all elected representatives, Republican and Democrat, to advocate for the industry and its workers.” Back to Blog Posts
