Biden-Harris Admin’s LNG Export Freeze: Latest Example of Deception and Political Appeasement

The Biden-Harris administration’s decision to freeze certain liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects has come under fire from a government watchdog group accusing the administration of deceiving the public. The Department of Energy (DOE) announced the pause on new and pending approvals for LNG export terminals in January, citing the need for a review of potential environmental, economic, and security impacts. However, evidence suggests that the administration may have conducted such a review in 2023 and buried it due to politically inconvenient conclusions. Now, in an act of desperation to appease the eco-left, we are beginning to understand those true motivations. The Daily Caller reports:

“The Biden-Harris administration may have based its decision to freeze certain liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects upon a major act of deception, according to a government watchdog group.”

This revelation is a reminder of the administration’s willingness to manipulate the policy process and “weaponize misinformation” for their own political gain. The freeze on LNG exports was sold as a necessary step to review environmental and security impacts, but it appears to be a smokescreen to appease environmentalist activists and with complete disregard for American energy interests. The DOE’s lack of transparency and wordsmithing in response to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests only add to the suspicion. The Daily Caller continues:

“Moreover, the federal government has delayed the process by “asking for timeline extensions, ignoring deadlines, filing motions to stay adjudication and seeking to further delay by consolidating several individual GAO FOIA actions into one complex case,” Chris Horner, one of GAO’s attorneys, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.”

This behavior has become typical of the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to hide the true functions and motivations of their climate offices. Power The Future recently filled a lawsuit against the Department of Justice and the Environmental Protection Agency for their tactics obfuscating and avoiding honest responses to FOIA requests for government documents.

What type of influence peddling or green grift must be driving policies like the LNG export pause, gas stove ban, and EV mandates?
