Day Nine: 12 Days of Biden’s War on American Energy

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) is a crude oil reserve that was founded for emergency use and to reduce the impact of disruptions in supplies of petroleum products. But thanks to President and his administration the SPR is at its lowest level since 1983. 

Throughout his time as president, Biden drained 180 million barrels from the SPR. Despite there not being any emergency that would warrant the sale of barrels. Now, if an emergency were to happen, as a country, we would be vulnerable. The mismanagement of our strategic reserves is unacceptable and needs to be stopped. It is concerning to think about what will occur if an actual emergency happens and we are left scraping the bottom of the SPR barrel.

President Biden has left the United States exposed in a time of crisis. Instead of playing political games with our national reserves, he should get out of the way of America’s domestic energy producers so that they can reverse the damage of his reckless decision to drain the SPR.
