New Mexico Electric Rates Rising Higher Than National Average

July 6, 2021

It seems like it was only a few months ago New Mexico’s Governor was trying to convince the people that their electric bills were actually going down. Turns out, she either doesn’t know the truth or is deceiving the state’s working families on purpose.

According to one report, not only have New Mexico’s electric rates gone up, they’re rising faster than the national average. Between March 2020 and March 2021, electric bills in New Mexico rose 2.1 percent, higher than the national average of 1.6 percent. To make matters worse, New Mexico’s families are paying more for their electricity than any of their neighboring states.

In 2019, the Governor and the radical eco-left championed the “mini-green new deal” for the state promising it would “reduce energy costs.” Once again, it’s clear the Governor, and her eco-left special interests, misled our families.
