New Mexico Leaders Called Out for Their Silence on Biden’s Energy Plan

There is a stark contrast in the energy plans put forth by President Trump and his challenger Joe Biden. However, it seems the New Mexico supporters of former Vice President Biden are the ones who are being awkwardly silent about his energy proposal.

And we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed.

An editorial from the Albuquerque Journal is calling out candidates and Governor Lujan Grisham over their lack of answers when it comes to energy. With the energy industry supporting over 100,000 jobs and billions in state revenue, it appears silence is no longer acceptable to the state’s largest newspaper. In their own words:

Is the governor on board with Biden’s proposed ban? If so, how do we back-fill that billion-dollar hole in the budget? These are also fair questions for candidates for Congress and the state Legislature.

None of this is to say environmental issues don’t have to be considered. They do.

But New Mexicans deserve answers to these questions. Especially as they get ready to cast their votes for candidates up and down the ballot.
