Radical Eco-Left Uses California Dollars to Spend Big In New Mexico Elections

Here’s some handy information for the next time your local environmentalist screams over the financial influence of “big oil.”

During New Mexico’s recently completed primary election, a political action committee tied to the Sierra Club spent over $170,000 to push the radical green agenda. According to campaign finance reports the money didn’t come from concerned New Mexicans, but instead came from a high-rise office building in California’s Bay Area.

This April contribution was just one of the several contributions funneled into New Mexico from the Sierra Club’s “independent Action” PAC in California:

For a little context, the eco-left pumped these out-of-state dollars into New Mexico during the very same week energy workers were suffering as the price of oil went negative. The Sierra Club used money from California to influence elections not for Congress or the Governor’s office, but for relatively unknown candidates in the New Mexico State Senate.
