No Environmental Scrutiny of New Mexico Solar Farms? June 22, 2020 Did two large New Mexico solar farms move forward without any environmental impact studies? In August of 2018, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission fast-tracked two large solar farms in the state with much fanfare. The Britton and Encino solar facilities are in Torrance and Sandoval counties, and they take up a lot of land. To check and see if the green agenda plays by their own rules, Power The Future filed public records requests at both the county and state level in order to examine the environmental studies conducted for the massive solar farms. The problem? Not a single environmental review was found. Always remember, the next time the eco-left screams for an environmental impact study for an oil rig or a pipeline, it’s not really about the environment. New Mexico Back to Blog Posts
