Progressives Are Hopeful to Move Biden Even Further Left

It is no surprise, “moderate” Joe Biden has gained the support of Sen. Bernie Sanders in the upcoming presidential election as the presumptive Democratic nominee since pushing his newfound, progressive policy agenda. Desperate for support, Biden has continued to push farther left in order to gain acceptance from the eco-extremists within his own party.

Biden appointed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as co-chair to his campaign’s “unity task force” on climate. Among its members is Sunrise Movement co-founder Varshini Prakash, who along with AOC endorsed Sander during the primary.

Another former Sanders surrogate who will be joining Biden’s campaign is Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who sponsored the Medicare for All Act of 2019, and will be co-chair of the healthcare task force.

“[Biden has been] much more receptive to sitting down and talking with me and other progressives than we have seen in the past,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders in a recent interview with The New Yorker, “… Joe has been open to having his people sit down with some of the most progressive folks in America, and that’s a good sign.”

We could not disagree more. The far-left policies Biden continues to make part of his once “middle of the aisle” campaign would have disastrous effects across all sectors of the economy. Unfortunately for the oil and gas industry, majority of these misguided policies are attacking American energy jobs and the energy sector.

Biden’s progressive efforts are not tackling important issues or unifying his party, or the country for that matter. Instead, he is further dividing the party lines and leaving behind the millions of Americans who depend on the oil and gas industry to put food on their tables.
