While States Move to Kick Out Michael Bloomberg’s Money, New Mexico Continues To Take the Cash

Michael Bloomberg’s controversial arrangement that is “not unusual” in New Mexico is drawing fire other parts of the country.

Power The Future was able to uncover the documents showing the New York billionaire is paying the salaries of two lawyers in the New Mexico Attorney General’s office. Under the arrangement, Bloomberg pays New York University who then sends the attorneys to friendly offices all over the country to advance Bloomberg’s radical agenda. The practice was blasted by both the Albuquerque Journal and the Wall Street Journal.

Now, State Senator Mary Kiffmeyer from Minnesota is asking tough questions of her own AG. In a letter sent earlier this week, Sen. Kiffmeyer not only questions the program but adds:

“I am considering legislation for this upcoming legislative session that would prevent an arrangement like this from happening within the Attorney General’s office in the future.”

The state of Virginia has already outlawed the practice, now Minnesota may do the same.

However, in New Mexico taking Michael Bloomberg’s special interest money is “not unusual.”
