Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Releases Her Environmental Demands, And It’s Even More Radical Than You Thought

November 16, 2018

Incoming Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez today raised the stakes in her brewing battle with Democrat leadership, releasing her list of demands for a “green new deal.” Ocasio-Cortez made headlines earlier this week when she joined a mob of environmental protestors camped out in Nancy Pelosi’s office, and now Ocasio-Cortez is doubling down.

Ocasio-Cortez’s “green new deal” reads as a laundry list of radical, far-left wishes, many of which have little to do with the environment. She proposes “decarbonizing” the manufacturing and agricultural industries. Under the guise of “environmental justice and equality,” she also proposes massive new spending initiatives like a Bernie Sanders style-universal healthcare system and a basic income program.

What’s not mentioned? How Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would pay for it.

Congress’ newest socialist has done countless media interviews, personally protested Nancy Pelosi over the environment, and released a litany of demands – all before she’s even found an apartment in the city. A civil war is brewing on the left over the environment, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is demonstrating that she will not waste any time leading the charge.

Her demands show that the left has some soul searching to do, but really these demands prove what we’ve said all along: the environmental left is as extreme as they come and regular Americans know better than to put our economy in the hands of far left socialists.
