Gas Prices Aren’t High Enough for New Mexico’s Governor

June 28, 2021

New Mexico’s gas prices are up over 50% over last year. So, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham feels it’s the perfect time to force a green tax on the state’s working families.

The Governor and her eco-left administration have proudly announced they are going to try again to impose a clean fuel standard after it failed to pass the most recent legislative session.

The Governor’s Green Gas Tax would have New Mexico follow in the footsteps of California and Oregon who have already passed such laws. Not surprisingly, California currently has the highest gas prices in the nation and Oregon ranks fifth.

To add insult to injury, with the 3rd highest poverty rate in the nation, New Mexico would be the poorest state to pass the Green Gas Tax. Apparently, that doesn’t seem to matter to those who are collecting taxpayer-funded paychecks.
