WARNING: Fighting Energy Workers in New Mexico Will Make You Very Unpopular

July 18, 2019

The message is simple: If you fight against energy workers in New Mexico, you’ll become very unpopular…quickly.

Recently released data from Morning Consult shows New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is the sixth most unpopular Governor in the entire country. That’s even less popular than New York Governor Andrew Cuomo who checks in at number seven as he works to undermine energy workers in his home state.

The new rankings come less than one year into Governor Lujan Grisham’s first term and are among the first to be released since she signed the controversial Energy Transition Act into law. The new law calls for the state to transition to 100% unreliable energy and has led to strong pushback from those who understand economic reality. Additionally, the Lujan Grisham Administration worked hand-in-hand with the eco-left to write the law, leading to one lawmaker to call for the resignation of her energy secretary.

The energy industry in New Mexico provides thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in revenue to the state. Perhaps it’s time for leaders to listen to those energy workers who are making a difference instead of taking orders from the (unpopular) eco-left.
