The Oil and Gas Industry Is Working Hard to Make Sure Lights Stay on Across the Nation Amid the Covid-19 Pandemic

March 19, 2020

The need for every citizen to have access to affordable and reliable energy has never been so apparent amid the Covid-19 outbreak. Hospitals, transport vehicles, and grocery stores need to keep operating as usual, in order to ensure Americans’ safety and access to life essentials.

Power the Future has previously written on the effects of poor eco-extreme policy; discussing the ill-informed, green-minded actions by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, which led to energy shortages around the state. Climate change activists paint the energy sector as the “boogeyman” and frame immediate radical policy as the only solution, when in reality their policies cause more problems than solutions.

Right now, the country (and the eco-left) should be thankful for our thriving energy industry that has kept hospitals running, made delivery transport possible, and American homes heated amid this social distancing period.

According to Reuters:

Oil and gas companies are implementing contingency plans focused on ensuring continuity of supplies to market, and preventing the spread of the virus to workers and the public, Suzanne Lemieux, API’s head of operations security, told reporters in a conference call with representatives of several energy industry trade groups.

Thank you to the American energy workers who continue to power our country and work to ensure we all have access to efficient and reliable energy.
