Study: The Fight for Rare Earths:  How Green Extremists Ignore China’s Human Rights Record and Threaten U.S. National Security

Rare earths elements are used in a wide variety of consumer products that we use every day and the military tools and weapons that we rely on to keep us safe. They are also essential to creating solar panels, electric cars, and other green tech that the eco-Left insists we must use to stop climate change. However, China controls the vast majority of both the mining and processing of these rare earths. Yes, the country that lied about Covid-19, engages in gross human rights abuses, and is currently our adversary in a trade war controls our access to critical resources.

China could cut off our supply of rare earths at any time, and while the eco-Left acknowledges the problem, they also insist on hindering attempts to increase mining and processing at home. This dependence threatens our economy and national security, and if the eco-Left has their way, our energy supply.
