New Mexico’s Budget Disaster Offers A Glimpse Into Eco-Left Future

May 7, 2020

Want to get an idea of what New Mexico’s state budget would look like if the eco-left got their way? Welcome to 2020!

On Wednesday, State economists reported a projected revenue decline anywhere from $1.8 billion to $2.4 billion for New Mexico’s state budget. That represents a nearly 30 percent decline from what economists were expecting just four months ago.

A worldwide pandemic, international market manipulation and other market forces are the cause for the current struggles leading to New Mexico’s budget plunge. However, it’s not too far removed from what the eco-left wanted for our economy last January.

The current reality of New Mexico’s budget disaster sounds familiar because it’s similar to the problems the state would face if the eco-left got their way and banned fracking in the state. The fact that a worldwide health emergency is delivering the same budget disaster the eco-left would offer every year should be a wake-up call to every rational New Mexican.
