New Mexico Governor Recycles Tired Promise

New Mexico Governor Recycles Tired Promise

April 29, 2021

You have to give her credit; New Mexico’s eco-left Governor is such a strong supporter of the Green Agenda that she recycles old promises. Sadly, for New Mexico’s families, the reality never matches the rhetoric.

To illustrate our point, let’s take a look at two different quotes about green jobs in New Mexico:

  1. “New Mexico is now in a position to lead in renewable energy across the nation.”
  2. “That is because New Mexico is hungry for clean energy and the good jobs that come with this new industry.”

The first quote is from current New Mexico Governor, and ally of the eco-left, Michelle Lujan Grisham. She promises her state is poised to climb out from the bottom of the nation’s unemployment rankings thanks to renewable jobs.

The second quote is from former Governor Bill Richardson when he promised New Mexico was “hungry” for clean energy jobs. In fact, Tesla was going to build an electric car plant in Albuquerque!

The only problem? The two quotes are FOURTEEN YEARS apart. And as you may have heard, there isn’t a Tesla factory in Albuquerque.

This illustrates the problem with “just around the corner” promises of the Green Agenda. In the 14 years between these two statements, New Mexico’s fossil fuel industry delivered over 100,000 jobs and billions to state coffers. While renewables are still on subsidy life support.

You can recycle all you want, but the promise is still broken.
