New Mexico Governor Considers Escape From Biden’s Fracking Rules

September 17, 2020

Last week, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham was the first to raise the idea of a state seeking a waiver from Joe Biden’s fracking ban if he’s elected.

Yes, this the same Governor who was on Joe Biden’s shortlist for VP. And yes, it’s the same Governor who was just appointed to a role on Biden’s transition team.  To put it plainly, one of Biden’s biggest supporters wants to escape his energy plan.

Make no mistake, a waiver from Biden’s fracking ban definitely qualifies as an escape.

Energy-rich states like Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and New Mexico all stand to lose billions if they have to live under Biden’s energy proposals and his supporters know it. That’s exactly the reason when Biden faced a Pennsylvania crowd he began to stumble over his fracking flip-flop. With the stakes so high in many states, New Mexico’s governor may not be the last to talk about escaping from Biden’s fracking future.

On the other hand, escaping hypocrisy is a different issue.
