New Bill Introduced to Repeal Biden’s Natural Gas Tax January 27, 2023 This week Congressman August Pfluger (R-TX 11) announced a bill to repeal the natural gas tax. President Biden’s natural gas tax was forced through in the “Inflation Reduction Act” last August. This new piece of legislation comes at a time when families across America are struggling to pay bills. According to the Census Bureau, over 21 percent of Americans could not fully pay their energy bill over the last year. Energy prices have skyrocketed over the past couple of years and adding a new unreasonable tax to the natural gas industry will only keep costs increasing. It is disappointing that President Biden and his administration continue to listen to the few voices of the eco-left rather than help American families. “The natural gas tax must be repealed, and we commend Congressman Pfluger for standing up for American energy and getting us back on the road to energy independence,” said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “Our families are already dealing with pain at the pump and sticker shock at the grocery store because of President Biden’s energy policies. Now he wants to tax natural gas and send billions more to Washington. This bill to repeal this monstrosity should be a priority, and we are hopeful it passes the House in short order.” Repealing President Biden’s tax on natural gas is crucial to bringing back American energy independence and the first solution in our Energy Policy Roadmap. If Congress continues to follow this roadmap, America will be stronger and safer for years to come. Back to Blog Posts
