Deb Haaland’s First Act as Interior Secretary? Party!

While thousands of American energy workers are out of a job, including many in her home state, Deb Haaland’s first priority is to throw a party celebrating…Deb Haaland.

According to a story in Politico, staffers at the Interior Department were planning a party shortly after Haaland’s confirmation. However, the 50-person gathering never happened as the White House shut it down over Covid concerns.

The fact that Haalan’s own state ranks among the worst for unemployment with energy jobs at their lowest in years apparently was not a concern for party planners.

No word on who was on the invite list, but it’s doubtless the thousands of workers who have lost their livelihoods because of Biden and Haaland weren’t invited.
