Biden’s Campaign Visit to Support Gov. Lujan Grisham Highlights Their Similar Energy Failures November 3, 2022 With gas prices and inflation once again on the rise and New Mexico’s working families hurting, President Joe Biden is visiting Albuquerque for a campaign event with Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. Both have a failing grade when it comes to energy, and both are facing tough polls because of that. The Hill reports, “New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) is in a competitive reelection bid against Republican challenger Mark Ronchetti, who is endorsed by former President Trump. A recent poll shows her holding a 3-percentage point lead over Ronchetti in a state that has voted for every Democratic presidential nominee since 1992, except for 2004.” The visit underscores how both Biden and Lujan-Grisham have waged their executive power to hurt energy producers and workers in the state of New Mexico. Now, consumers are paying the price. “Energy is on the ballot this election and New Mexicans are paying thousands more because Joe Biden along with Michelle Lujan Grisham have worked every day to impose an ‘America Last’ energy policy,” said Power the Future Communications Director Larry Behrens. “President Biden and Michelle Lujan Grisham have a lot in common as both have pledged to get rid of fossil fuels, both wanted to raise the cost of gas even more within the last year, and both are now trying to pretend they are moderates despite their extreme record of failure. New Mexicans expect their leaders to be accountable for their failures yet all we hear from Joe Biden and Michelle Lujan Grisham is out-of-touch deflection of blame while our families are left to pay the price.” Back to Blog Posts
