Be Aware When Shopping: Some Companies Are Trying to End Traditional Energy Opportunities

December 29, 2023

We spend a lot of time at Power The Future advocating for resource development.  Our whole mission revolves around supporting the millions of families across the country who depend on having jobs and projects available to employ workers and provide paychecks; making sure they are championed, fighting back against the well-funded narrative that they’re not important, or ruining the planet with their actions.

When we see companies touting their environmental activism, encouraging their customers to join them in opposing responsible development…well, that merits a response.  A strong one.

Companies brazen about environmental activism, such as North Face and Patagonia, are ones we avoid altogether.  But there are thousands more who join national collectives like “Climate Neutral Certified” and “1% for the Planet”, who then team with extreme environmental groups to vilify traditional energy and promote a false narrative around a ‘climate crisis’.

Knowing which companies have decided that the planet is more important than anything else – and then avoiding them when you have a choice in vendors – becomes exceedingly important if we want to push back on their activism.

As we move into 2024, let’s make it a point to shop with freedom in mind; choosing companies who believe in America, and who don’t want to make it harder for American energy workers to bring home a paycheck.

Happy New Year, everyone.
