Biden’s Energy Agenda on Full Display at COP28 December 4, 2023 In just the first weekend of the annual United Nations climate junket in Dubai, the Biden Administration opened new fronts in their war on American energy. Vice President Kamala Harris, Climate Czar John Kerry and EPA Administrator Michael Regan made policy announcements that will continue to drive up prices nationwide. The announcements include: Kerry committed to shutting down all coal plants which provide nearly 20 percent of all electricity in the United States. Vice President Harris committed $3 billion in taxpayer dollars to go to other countries through the UN’s “Green Climate Fund.” This is the first American contribution to the fund since President Obama committed $3 billion in 2014. EPA Administrator Michael Regan announced new rules targeting American oil and natural gas producers. The move received bipartisan criticism, noting it would raise prices. The recent policy announcements are, unfortunately, on-brand for the Biden Administration. Time and time again, this administration has shown that they will continue to put American energy last. “Joe Biden’s army of bureaucrats are not wasting any time pushing his radical agenda thousands of miles away from the families it is hurting,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “The White House refuses to say how many members of the Biden Administration made the trip to Dubai or how much we’re paying for their time at this junket. It’s clear Biden’s attacks on American energy will ensure our families continue to pay more every single day.” Back to Blog Posts
