Department of Interior Promotes Climate Activist Who Failed Senate Confirmation November 2, 2023 The Biden Administration is up to its tricks again. This time, the Department of Interior is promoting Laura Daniel-Davis — the current principal deputy assistant secretary of land and minerals management, who will now serve as the acting deputy secretary. Previously, Daniel-Davis failed to receive a Senate confirmation. Fox News reports, “The DOI announced that Laura Daniel-Davis — the current principal deputy assistant secretary of land and minerals management — will serve as the acting deputy secretary, the agency’s second-most senior role, effective immediately. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., tanked Daniel-Davis’ nomination for deputy assistant secretary in March after it was revealed she had explicitly prioritized the climate agenda over energy security.” This is not the first time this administration has ignored the Senate and found ways to promote eco-left warriors high up in an agency. Earlier in the year, the Department of Energy promoted Jeff Marootian to a senior role of overseeing household appliance regulations, who also could not gain the votes for a Senate confirmation. “Laura Daniel-Davis is doing everything in her power to make American energy more expensive. During her tenure as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management, she has undermined our nation’s energy and mineral security. She has continually blocked access to important minerals and restricted oil and gas leasing on federal lands. She is totally opposed to unleashing American energy,”’ Energy and Natural Resources Committee ranking member Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., told Fox News Digital in a statement on Tuesday.” It is telling that this administration is full of unelected eco-left bureaucrats. We need an administration focused on hiring qualified people who can bring back American energy independence. Back to Blog Posts
