Biden Administration to Cancel Critical Alaska Leases September 7, 2023 Yesterday, it was announced that the Biden Administration plans to cancel critical oil and natural gas leases in Alaska. The sale of the leases had already been approved twice by Congress and two different presidents. The Washington Post reports, “In a separate move, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland is canceling all seven outstanding leases the Trump administration awarded for oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, in the state’s northeast corner. Drilling had been banned in the refuge, one of the nation’s most pristine natural areas, for decades until Congress in 2017 ordered lease sales on the reserve.” The leases would have provided essential jobs and revenue to the state of Alaska at a time when families are dealing with the effects of record-high inflation and gas prices. It goes to show that this administration will always choose the eco-left over hardworking Americans. Power The Future Founder and CEO Daniel Turner blasted the Biden Administration’s decision, “This is another nail in the coffin of the White House lie that Joe Biden isn’t standing in the way of American energy production. As families are dealing with rising gas prices, President Biden is working to ensure his radical green agenda comes first. During his short time in office, Joe Biden has delivered massive inflation and the highest gas prices ever: that will be the legacy of Bidenomics.” Back to Blog Posts
