Too Rich To Fail

Another frustrating story about the energy battles raging in California.

In an article in the Daily Energy Insider, Aaron Martin cites two different studies which paint a questionable picture of electrical reliability in summertime Southern California.

Who is to blame for this? Surely not the energy workers of Kern County, an area of the state whose industry employs thousands of people and leads the nation in oil production.

The blame rests squarely on the shoulders of radical environmental groups — and their biggest patron, Tom Steyer.

Just like we saw in the northeast during this frigid winter, the energy grid in Southern California is barely hanging on. It is not a lack of energy, or a lack of resources, or a lack of will. It is the pressure opposing energy expansion applied by environmental radicals like Tom Steyer, and his northeast equivalent, Mike Bloomberg. They fund radical groups like the Sierra Club and the Center for Biological Diversity, who continue to wage war on America’s energy needs.

Tom Steyer is probably too busy to notice. As he carries on campaigning for presidential “impeachment,” he is blithely unaware of the dangers his home state faces because of his policies. And if the energy grid fails, will Tom Steyer suffer the consequences? No. Billionaires like him have the means to flee to a different part of the country, flying in private planes, escaping the consequences of their own actions. It always the poor, the marginalized who are left without any other option than to suffer.

The studies mentioned above are only speculative, and we hope for the best for the people of California. Americans always have strong resolve, and have overcome tremendous obstacles. But as a nation, we need to reject the radical environmental policy positions of people like Steyer, Bloomberg, George Soros, and others. They are taking us down a dangerous path. And the consequences are truly life and death.
