New Mexico’s Eco-Left: Solar Is So Affordable, We Must Force You to Buy It July 31, 2020 New Mexico’s eco-left is putting in overtime to pat themselves on the back for putting families out of work. This week, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (PRC) voted to select a 100% renewable plan in order to replace power that will be lost with the pending closure of the San Juan Generating Station in the northwest part of the state. The closure will kill as many as 1,500 jobs, but New Mexico’s environmental community doesn’t care. You might recall when a similar coal mine was forced to close last year, elderly Native Americans who depend on the coal for heat were forced to burn their own clothes in order to stay warm. The eco-left was nowhere to be found to help. Now, they are celebrating the PRC decision to force New Mexico to buy Chinese made solar panels while they put New Mexico’s families out of work.
