U.S. Now Exporting Oil To A Record Number Of Countries August 5, 2019 On Friday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration made it official – the U.S. energy industry has broken yet another record. As Axios reports, the U.S. is “now exporting crude oil to a record number of 31 countries.” “U.S. oil exports are going all over the world, ranging from oil-rich United Arab Emirates to Australia, reaching 2.9 million barrels a day.” In 2015, Congress lifted a 40-year-old ban on oil exports, paving the way for this record-breaking accomplishment. In the years since, the U.S. oil industry has seen an unprecedented boom, thanks to technological developments in fracking, the efforts of American energy workers, and a better regulatory environment from the Trump Administration. As Axios explains, “this is a remarkable turnaround” for America’s energy industry, and it’s “likely keeping prices at the pump lower than they might have been.” Exporting American oil to 31 countries – that’s what U.S. energy dominance looks like.
